Tarsus Commodity Exchange was deemed worthy of the Good Practice Award in UR-GE Project Management at the Clustering Conference held by the Ministry of Commerce since 2014, attended by Tarsus Commodity Exchange Chairman of the Board Mustafa Teke, General Secretary Hasan Şanlı and International Trade and Project Coordinator Pınar Alegöz.

Stating that International Competitiveness Development (UR-GE) and clustering projects are a part of the strategy of "thinking globally and acting locally", Borsa President Mustafa Teke stated that the project being implemented also supports rural development and creates new economic opportunities in these areas.

As a result of the applications made by cooperation organizations within the scope of UR-GE project support at the 6th Clustering Conference held with the participation of Minister of Trade, Mr. Prof. Omer Bolat; Among all the projects applied for, the "Export Management and Capacity Development of Tarsus Agricultural Sector Clustering" Activity carried out by Tarsus Commodity Exchange was selected as a good practice example and the project award was given to the Minister of Commerce, Prof. Dr.Omer Bolat  to Mustafa Teke, Chairman of the Board of Tarsus Commodity Exchange.

OUR PURPOSE IS TO SERVE EXPORT.

Tarsus Commodity  Exchange President Mustafa Teke said, “Our aim is to both optimize the economic concentration in our cities and contribute to the development of our rural areas; It serves to balance sustainable growth, exports and social harmony in every corner of our country.

We started our URGE project with 26 companies in 2017. When we started, only 10 companies were exporting, but now almost all of them are exporting. There has been an increase of approximately 120% between our export volume when we started URGE and our current volume. While our companies' exports in the agriculture and food sector were limited only to Russia, thanks to our project, we have now started to export to our target markets: EU countries, the Middle East, the UK and the Turkic States.

The biggest contribution to the success of our URGE project was the one-on-one training we provided. In addition, the permanent existence of our Export Support Office, which we serve as the District Stock Exchange, within our stock exchange and providing support to all our members, contributes to our economy in exports outside of the project.

The Ministry of Commerce's URGE support has resulted in an increase in production, turnover, exports and employment for our region and our companies. Due to the success of our project, I strongly recommend all our members to participate in our URGE Projects.

International Trade and Project Coordinator Pınar Alegöz had the award of Best Project Executive, on the other hand, presented new ideas to the participants in the panel section of the conference by explaining that the success of the project was due to the fact that they carried out the project from the beginning as a project manager, not as a project manager, but to open up to foreign trade.
